"The "sauna parlour" occupied the whole upper floor of the building which ran above both the retail units beneath it.
The address being Station Road is that the entrance was to the rear down the narrow passage leading to the back door of the White Horse. Back in the day this was one property called "Fountain House" and the owners lived in those parts which were not the retail space."

The site was purchased from Eady Joy by Jake Wright in the 1960s and is where he built Wright's fruit and vegetable shop. It was between the Manse and the Liberal club and was a single storey building and not attached to the parade of shops. There are two houses on the site now. |
